the gold GSR on the front cover of this months Hot 4's magazine. It belongs
to a mates son and it is one seriously fast car for a daily driver :-)
does the 1/4 in 12.66 and that was after he put a set of airbags under it.

Will it be on the DVD? I usually get the Ignition DVD each month.

yep its on the DVD, he waved it under my nose the other day, Josh (the
owner) is very proud of his little beast, and now that he will be moving in
with his girlfriend I think the open bank account feeding into the car will
be getting its tubes tied :-)

That's great.  How does such speed help when driving in 60 km/h traffic?

Probably not much when it's a high boosting 4 cylinder turbo buzz box,
but a 12 second V8 on the other hand.. well that's a different story :)

Yeah, great logic there.

In much the same way that a CR-V aids the forward visibility of
following hatchback in 60 km/h traffic. Bet the GSR causes more grins i
another environment though :)

OH yeah, its a fun car to drive, and on the open road it makes overtaking a
breeze, even when you overtake one of those morons that try and speed up so
you can't go past :-)

He gets to 60km/h quicker than it takes a virgin like you to get an erection
over two dogs rooting on the ride of the road.

Extra carbon monoxide to thin out the jews Dave. Thats how.
Diesel Damo - 24 May 2008 03:25 GMT

Spoken like someone who truly does not know.

Back when I used to drive powerful cars, I always considered it a
safety feature. Being able to safely cross a busy road in a gap that I
wouldn't even consider in the Hilux.

Or changing lanes swiftly and cleanly before dickheads like you see
the indicator and jealously move up to block the gap and cause more
congestion.

Same goes for overtaking. The move is almost done before you've even
had a chance to begin accelerating to block the move.

In short, it helps a great deal. But you'll never know.

That's fair enough I suppose.

I'm thinking safety gap and some prick who pulls into it and
causes ME to have to move back because of his stupidity.

Same could apply here as for your argument there must be more
than one lane of traffic and you must be in the slow lane to
start with.

> In short, it helps a great deal. But you'll never know.

It can help, however, it can be used maliciously also.

IOW pull out in front of people and make them slow down for you because
you're an impatient dickhead behind the wheel.

Yep, you think right. Agressive dickheadedness for no good reason other then
impatience.

Yep, but they think they own the road because they think they have a fast
car and must drive accordingly (and not according to conditions)

Benefit of the doubt was given here, that *through* traffic
was not hampered. :-)

Thankyou. Don't know where anyone gets the idea that I'm some rocket
pilot zipping in and out of traffic and annoying other drivers like a
fly randomly buzzing around, but oh well.

Rather than pull apart both your posts (you and Feral) and start a nit-
picking session, I'll just say obviously my comments can be taken out
of context and twisted into evil deeds, but I get the strong feeling
you know where I'm coming from (i.e. good intentions) so I'll leave it
at that.

They'd probably still charge him the hourly rate... not a drama for

Ah yes.  He was telling me about it a couple of weeks ago - Josh works
for one of my mobile electronics suppliers.  Lovely guy, too.  And
that thing is a well made weapon.

it most definitely is :-)
I tried to ring him on Friday but he is on *holiday* repainting the house he
and his girlfriend have just bought, she has him starting the *Honey-do*
list early in the relationship LOL
I believe he has the car for sale, in the full knowledge that he is never
going to see the many tens of thousands of dollars he poured into it ever
again. I just hope it isn't sold to some rev head straight off his "P's"
with no idea about just how much of a weapon it can be in the wrong,
inexperienced hands.

I don't get those airbags on cars that drop them on the ground, the
thing looks ridiculous sitting on the ground and IMO they are good for
nothing.

its great for old codgers like me when the car can be jacked up a few inches
to make it easier for my tired old frame to get in and out of the car :-)
it also gives it a great ride on those rubber band tyres, other than that I
agree, I don't see anything else useful about them.
I makes him happy to have them though :-)

lifting the back when it gets raced on the 1/4 and dropping the front ,
lowering it when I park and making the seat a better height to exit ,

bigest thing is parking it dropped makes it virtually impossible to
tow away

They work just fine when used as a normal suspension medium, but yeah
dropping the car onto the floor does nothing for it.

What I don't get is those f.cking stupid jumping car contests. I mean, what
the f.ck kind of enjoyment is there in seeing a car bounce?
