It looks more truck like than ute like. I'll certainly take a closer
inspection.

VW used to sell 'lux under the brand name VW Taro. It may
be a good item.

Mate if it is as good as their old combi ute
will be bloody hard to kill even with an axe :)

Bought at auction  an old glaziers ute  Carpet on the back covering
the rust

gave it an engine ( from a VW Station wagon bought as a wreck for a
hundred )

ripped the carpet off the back Glaziers it appears use carpet to hide
LOTS of tin worm
put in new metal (no bog)  painted it  (with a hand pump fly spray )
then added nice cedar hungry boards .

The bloody thing still exists and is going with original  wreckers
donk
Andy reports it still chews clutches out  every 60,000 MILES )  Old
speedo

Look for it on  sydneys North Shore same number plates with  ERA  xxx
or was it EOP ?  any way
it can tell stories ---------- was used as a camera deck when making
Croc Dundee  1 and a few film clips  as well
was a camera lighting  (grips) vehicle  x hired to John Barry

Dinkum we could not kill it  even after rolling it into a river
( dragged it out next day  dropped the oil  changed the battery and
off it went again )
LOVE vehicles with character and personality   Replaced it with a HINO
AWD  = mongrel of  a thing that went to heaven  and a Unimog  took
over  (That beast is also still going)   the square heads make
vehicles that just last and last  :) (((( Pics available  somewhere in
the T chests

The Russians make cars that won't leave home.

I don't take sides.
It's more fun to insult everyone.

Well, happily the device pictured doesn't appear to have leaf-springs for
rear suspension. otherwise, though, it's a Triton, and damm near as
butt-ugly, too:-)

Thought you were going to show us the original Kombi dak dak utility,
haven't seen one for near 10 years now, though haven't seen a Kombi for a
while either.
Or maybe a Beetle conversion, I saw a stretched pink Beetle in Sydney ages
ago.

http://editorial.carsales.com.au/car-review/2961602.aspx

Article states the truck is not going on sale in the US or Australia, but
only 'third world' markets mostly in South America.

"will be built not in Germany but in the company's plant in Pacheco,
Argentina"

"The USA is apparently not on the agenda, largely due to dealer reaction,
which was sceptical about the quality, "

Right...  so importing VWs from Mexico is fine, but Argentina is out of the
question?  lol.  The massive 25% import duty on pickups in the US was
probably the main reason.
