I like QLD ...

the_dawggie - 27 Oct 2009 05:35 GMT Finally went to get my D/L converted to QLD.
Straight in with proof of id being Medicare Card, Credit Card, Rego Cert, NSW Gold License, PWC boat license.
No waiting about. 20 mins later have a nice shiny new QLD license. It lists various applications so mine has boat and class C D/L. I should have tried a trick on them and ticked heavy vehicle D/L and if they noticed said "I didn't read the Q properly - ooops sorry" :-) wonder if you can put a motorcycle and pilot license on it too.
Interestingly boat license does not cost anything here, so no more $100 for three years for that.
Again, NSW The Rip Off State, and that should appear as the slogan on NSW standard rego plates.
My everything is QLD now. My dirt bike still has a NSW plate but is not regoed so it does not count.
I think it's kinda cool they use a CRN as ID for everything, so my 'lux, my license, my CTP is under the one customer reference number.
Top marks QLD Transport. NSW sux, and to put it literally can't get their act _together_.
Oh and while my photo on my NSW license sucked (and I hope they shred it after I swapped it for QLD) I kinda like my QLD photo.

Ok I will shut up and type nothing. If I read that post before moving to QLD it would have helped me as it contains usefull info.
Neither of you have obviously not moved interstate.
Tell me what you need to do to move from any given state to QLD or NSW.
Now - do YOU actually have anything usefull to say, did you pay money on cell 'phone calls or viewing web sites which may or may not be correct - so .... f.ck Off. I think I provide more usefull info than either you or Scotty.

Its not your car related stuff you post about (which is getting fewer and further between) its the endless fucken drivel and pointless posts that have no place here. After all this is a CAR Related news group. With you and your bullshit crossposting to alt.ishouldtopmyself.au etc your getting very boring.
If you have related car issues, perferably without going on about medication or other irrelevant sh.t, be my guest.
PS, Atec also has from memory moved both inerstate and inter country.

Oh and some of those people don't have a D/L nor can afford/learn for one. Have after centerlink rent about $70 to smoke themselves to death each week. Don't give or lend them money which was my initial reaction.
I'm doing what I can to help. It might be a case of blind leading blind, and I know how to tie a hanging noose, almost used one myself once. So in some way these folk give me hope. One guy has been in ICU a number of times over cutting.

Why don't suicidal people just beat themselves to death slowly with the metric equivalent of a 4"x2" like normal people?? tap.. OW, tap.. OW tap.. sh.t that one hurt! Don't try this at home children.

Dawg,..if you post stuff which is intensely personal or comes over a bit wierd,..people dont accept that for the most part. It is a car group primarily, which doesnt mean OT posts arent out,..but they must fall within a set of boundaries so to speak.

I've got a long relationship with QLD as I'm 5th generation AU, all QLD based, but father moved to NSW where I was born.
NSW used wisely can turn $50K into $2.9M (property) then you get the feck out of the place. You feel a bit guilty about O/S buyers who would pay that they find out about overcrowding, taxing and payments on everything.
There used to be a poster here diesel damo, who used Shiteney and is out in the country now. I think - have not talked with him for a while, nor has he posted in a while.

Noddy - 27 Oct 2009 12:13 GMT > I've got a long relationship with QLD as I'm 5th generation AU, all > QLD based, but father moved to NSW where I was born. Then your "association" with it is f.ck nothing. What your distant relatives may have done has no bearing on your "life" if you can call it that.
My great, great paternal grandfather owned a massive chunk of land to the west of the city of Melbourne, and he donated the area of what it now the Melbourne Showgrounds and Flemington racecourse to the government. That doesn't mean my "association" entitles me to free showbags in September or free entry into the birdcage during the spring carnival.

Noddy - 31 Oct 2009 12:35 GMT > uh huh, according to wiki, said land, is, and always has been, crown > land.....please explain?... I don't know what Wiki article you're looking at, but Flemington (as in the suburb, and a large portion of the surrounding area) has been in private hands since the 1830's or so.
My g-g-g-g-grandfather (I can't remember exactly how far back he was, and would have to look it up) was a German immigrant who owned a huge chunk of that part of the world, and the lion's share of what now comprises of the suburb of Footscray. What he didn't give away in his old age was passed on to his children, and his grandson ended up with a fair share of it. He was a very wealthy eccentric who lost his fortune when he became convinced that Germany would win the First World War and sold everything he owned to convert his money into German Marks.
