hello i have a 96 a4 1.9tdi there is an orange light which i think has
something to do with the  immobiliser that comes back on after the ignition
is turned, the engine starts but dies off. if i try again it sometimes
starts ok.
Does anyone know how to remedy this problem

Fit a new ignition switch, with new immobiliser sensor coil.

Dealer job, common as hell, cost around 150 quid as the key needs to be
reprogrammed.

Don't let em tell you you need new keys, you don't.

Other wise live with it, mine was the same for ages, just wait a few secs
before you start the car, and the light will go out.
