Erm - Audi DOES have history, of sorts, with the Wankel engine!
The NSU RO80 used a Wankel, in the early 1970s.

And the Ro80 was apparently a cracker in many ways, however, the rotary
engine was it's weak point at the time, in reliability terms.
I still call troll though.
