Is there a reason or a solution or does someone have experience with this. I know from driving the 2.0T FSI engine, it makes a different sound than my 1.8T. People have described it as a 'coffee maker' sound. Personally, I don't think the 2.0T FSI makes as nice a sound as my 1.8T when accelerating. But need more detail on what sort of sound yours is making. It is a kind of a loud hard "humming" at low rpm (1100-2000) when the engine has to work a little, e.g. slightly uphill. I also have very unpleasant vibrations in the steering wheel and the seat. They appear at idle and at the same rpms as the "humming". I fear it is a general problem with the FSI engines. I'll have an Audi technician try the car tomorrow. He'll also bring another car of same model and gearbox as reference. |
