Don't know about the 2 doors, but my '99 328i sedan with 5 speed manual has
averaged 24.5 miles per (U.S.) gallon over 75,000 miles. Low mpg was 20 and
high (60 mph cruising) was 33 - all using 92~93 U.S. pump octane. Like they
say, ymmv.

You can easily expect about 25mpg for your commute. Highway mileage is going
to be in the range of 28 ~ 30, and city mileage will dial in at about 22. I
have a '94 325 convertible and my daughter has an '00 323 sedan. Both of our
cars deliver these kinds of numbers. Of course, your mileage may vary,
mostly depending on how much enthusiasm you apply to the pedals.
