Hey guys:
Jimmy Wales, the guy who started Wikipedia, started an online, user-
written and edited car magazine today at http://cars.wikia.com -- it's
a group blog and a wikipedia-like site for cars and car fanatics. You
can ask questions of other car fans, write articles reviewing
everything auto-related, and rate different makes and models, too.
And everything is together in one place in a magazine-like format.
Enthusiasts like you guys know as much, if not more, than the so-
called experts. Cars.Wikia agrees, and aims to highlight your
thoughts and ideas. Hope you like the site!
Yours,
Dan

Having borne witness to even a few of the more recent "technical"
disagreements among the local "enthusiasts", one wonders exactly whom
is being addressed. ;-]
Good luck with the site.

Just added 9 Studebaker websites to the Studebaker page (which had no
current info at all). You guys jump in and add some more, OK?

Good deal! I am a fan of Lincoln automobiles, and Ford products in general. I'll see
what I can add.
BTW,I didn't know there was a Stude newsgroup? I have to admit that I never actually
looked, though. Studebaker, beyond their rather stodgy reputation, made some pretty
impressive vehicles. I'd give all of my vehicles for a 'real' Avanti. :)

I should have added "and my right arm". I was speaking rather "tongue in cheek" with
that statement. I've wanted an Avanti since I first saw one back in about 1975.
I have a couple of nice Mark VIIs, a 69 Mercury Marauder X-100 and a 98 Taurus. Not
near enough for a nice Avanti. I won't part with the Merc and the Taurus is my
"priceless" daily driver. The Marks are ~$12K total.
Sorry Pat, I didn't mean to spark interest. I just meant that The Avanti is a Stude
that I've admired and appreciated for a long time. I really wish I could afford one.

No worries - I lusted after one ever since I saw it in a Stude showroom
at age 10, took a little over 40 years before the dream came true. Spend
some time here on the Stude group, you may find yourself infected with
the Studebaker bug.
