If in the US it could be a programming situation as some state need running
lights.
Another possible cause could be a bad earth (ground) with the HL earthing back
through the indicator bulbs.
Usually manifest itself on tail lamps and rear indicators.
something else to check, if you replaced the bulb in the side marker light,
make sure you didn't use a dual-filament bulb and also make sure you used
the correct wattage...

Have now replaced indicator light
problem is a little better but still happens when car is cold
after repeatedly switching on number 2 and 1 lights (and after about 5mins),
the red warning light goes out on the display and the indicator light goes
off when the number 1 lights are on
any ideas on how to fix if this is an earth problem
have seen a metal plate behind the indicator light nex tto headlight
how do i remove and any recommendations etc ?
