2007 335i Bluetooth with Treo

After about 6 months of trying to figure out why my Palm Treo 700p
sometimes acts funky in my 335i, I think i found a way to correct it when
it does.

Problem I was having was my treo would pair fine but would act funny at
times, the major problem was that it would always mute the radio, but
sometimes i couldn't use the hands-free or hear the phone through the
speakers.  i found that incoming calls would normally work fine but when i
dialed out i had to use the handset.

by trial and error i found that i could reset it to work properly by:

1. turn car off, remove key
2. turn off bluetooth on treo
3. reset/reboot treo by removing the battery, wait for it to fully restart
4. turn on bluetooth on treo
5. start car

i tried while driving by turning off bluetooth in the car and then going
through steps 2-4 and found it sometimes works, but its worth a try when
i'm on the highway and don't want to pull over just deal with my treo.

i think that most of the problems occur after i sync my treo with my pc
(i'm not convinced yet that its the only time), something must get reset in
the process - so now i just go through steps 2-4 after each sync and things
seem to be working fine

hope this helps anyone with a similar problem!

Thanks for the info.  Question........... is the phone 100% compatible with the
BMW bluetooth as many are not 100% and have limited functionality.

Check on BMW's web site for compatibility.

I had a treo 650 and drive a 550i. It worked consistently, but slow. And the
address book only gave me the speed dial numbers.

I recently (and reluctantly) switched to a T-Mobile DASH. it links
consistently and quickly, and gives me my entire address book (up to 1,500
names)

May not be what you want to hear, but the Palm OS is a reluctant traveler
with BMW. Frankly, I was shocked at the gyrations the OP went through to get
a link...
