Check the carb, timing, valve clearances, etc.
Alternatively, you could provide more details on which 318 you actually have
because the crystal ball isn't working today.

I will take a guess and say it's a 318 with an M40 engine.

Misfires can be caused by many different things.
IF, it was a 318i with an M40 engine, the next question would have been does
the engine sound rattly.

sorry gino took so long its a v reg 318i its not ratling when hot keep
light foot and goes perfectly only when u put foot down then hesitates to
say i dont want to go then slow on the foot ok pick up to 90mph
