Is he really in the car selling business????? Seems like a philanthropic dreamer
to me. Donating cars refers to US law but the selling of car links show a UK
company "Perry's" of Wimbledon (or used to be there)

They are his links, not mine. I deduced his business by the links. It really
dmakes little difference if he is selling cars or donating them, he appears
to be in car business and knows next to nothing about his product set. That
seems odd to me.

I have heard of the "Wombles of Wimbleton Common". Is that close?

No - it's Wimbledon. Best known for the tennis.
