528i wagon losing power

Hi, everyone.  I just bought a 1999 528i wagon that drove 2 hours home just
fine then 2nd day after 20 minutes when going up steep hill starting losing
power significantly.  Can only step on gas pedal 1/4 of the way or it runs
even worse.  Did make it up the hill but continued to run poorly until
turned off.  HELP!!!

Well, for God's sake take it back and have the seller fix it.

Consider the obvious first - low fuel, wrong fuel, water in fuel etc.
