The NHTSA --- if you go to the site
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/recallsearch.cfm and search for the
NHTSA Campaign Number: 07V479000, it shows up.
Note that it seems to apply to some 650 and x5s also.

It looks like pretty much every other recall I've ever seen. Why do
you think it's odd?

???
Almost every recall I've ever seen, both auto and motorcycle, use the word
'crash'. What word would you rather have them use?
"Punt"? ;-)

"Unintended vector conflict" works nicely for me.

Maybe a country specific term. I just don't like the use of the word
'crash'.

You are very strange, and a top-poster to boot.

"And this... this would be your crash helmet?"
"Oh, no, don't say crash. No, I don't like that word."
"But, this is the actual suit you will be using on this great undertaking?"
"Oh no. Don't say undertaking."

I recently attended a company sponsored driver safety training
course. The instructor used the word "crash" and "wreck" repeatedly.
I asked him about this afterwards, and he said those words have a lot
more impact than "accident" and they used them purposefully. Perhaps
it is the same here.

This is a standard recall summary template. What are you talking about?
