Our friend DerTuner just caught this facelifted BMW 3 Series wagon in Germany. If you look closer to the front you will see a night vision system integrated in an M3 front bumper. Strangely this doesn't seem to be an M3 model considering the hood and side fender are standard. To add to the confusion, the back bumper is also M3 styled but the right side exhaust are not there. Would any non M3 version be fitted with the M bumpers.. the future will say. (...)

Where do you get the NEW night vision system - its been available for a few
years now on the 7 series - perhaps they are downgrading the availability to
lesser vehicles in the range.

Actually BMW is working on a new version of Night Vision. Supposedly it has
a further range, detects people and animals better, and is less expensive.

The original system has been available on the 5 and 6 series too.

I am not sure what's visible in the OP's picture link actually is a
"new night vision system". It looks like the sensor for the adaptive
cruise control from what gather. At least it's located in the exact
same spot where it is on the current E-90.
But then again, since I don't have the nightvision system on my E-90
or E-91 I could be putting a big foot in my mouth here, which would
not be all that unusual LOL

You may be right. The rear bumper is taped over and weird too. I don't see
where Night Vision is needed while backing up, but stranger things have
probably happened.
