I could not turn my car off, the key was already in the off position an
would not turn, disconnected battery and car still didnt shut off, had t
pull the fuel fuse before it would shut off, now the key turns all the wa
around in the switch and will not start and idea what is wrong? thank

have the pros from Dover look at it ... suspect they have to replace the
keylock ignition assembly ... give you a new key to turn and buttons to
push.

I've a feeling only the switch breaks and it may be possible to transfer
the actual lock.

That may be true, but the work is the same. My guess is that the linkage
between the switch and the lock set is what's really broken. But, no matter
what's broken, the steering wheel and turn signal (combination) switch is in
the way.

It is not the actual switch you need to replace. It is the housing around
it.
You have to get into the column and you will see it. It is an aluminum
or pot metal frame around the switch. When installing it uses screws that
shear off when in place.
