Hello,
I am considering one of these used. It has full service history and 82,000
km.
Is black paintwork and in excellent condition - it's being sold at an estate
auction.
Is there anything I should look out for?
Many thanks in advance.

We US guys don't know much about that engine, but earlier ones were good.
Check to see if the brakes are ready for replacement. Make sure all the
windows go up and down (if electric lifts - known problem.) Make sure
the fluids (oil, coolant, etc.) look good. Make sure the radiator hoses
aren't
soft and that there is no seepage from anywhere.

You also might check the suspension and A/C (if equipped).

the repair work history is computerize .. so that is easy to get.
since it is at auction it is sold as is ...
have them start it up and give it a test drive if you can ...
otherwise there is no way to check the compression and all that rot to see
if there was something that went horribly amiss and trashed the engine.
kill that power plant ... toss away the car.
the engine is worth more then the car right now.
There is no way you can insist on new tires, brakes and O2 sensor out the
door ... and you are going to have to pay taxes and registration this way.
So bid low ... you got a lot of money to toss at the car once you get it.
Chances are good, you will get something that is worth the upkeep costs.
Otherwise ... it is worth getting as the new 2000 series technology is in it
with the engine and transmission.
IMO and all that rot
