a timing blet or chain?

If it is the M50 engine, then it has a timing chain.

'91 is the year they changed. If it's a single cam - belt, twin cam,
chain. It's pretty obvious how many cams it has by the cover.

If you can see the plug leads , then ita a M20 with a belt,
