The seal on the my sunroof has hardened through age (1988) and opening the sunroof is becoming abit of a challenge since it keeps catching the body work. Is there anyway to soften the seal or do i need to get it replaced? They're not cheap though unfortunately. Might be just as cheap to buy a used panel somewhere. Go to your BMW dealer and get some Gumi Flege. the spelling may not be correct, but it will correct the problem if the seal has not become too brittle. Otherwise take the panel out and replace the seal.
