Planning to soon install a new waterpump on my 97 328 as preventative
maintenence.  Bentley manual says to lubricate the O-ring gasket during
installation - my question is what lubricant should be used?

Thought it a bad idea to get any oil or grease in the cooling system,
likewise silicone is a definite no-no, I thought.

What does everyone use?

Thanks much,

Frank

Just spray a little lithium grease on the O-ring. Helps to seat it .
