Do you think it is normal than on a brand new BMW 525i petrol (not
diesel) with a full tank you can only make 200 kilometers?? Thank you!

8 mpg UK? No. Do you stop the engine when you park up overnight?

My 1992 525i (E34 Model) averages 29MPG(UK) / 24MPG(US)

So I think yours is rather poorly and in need of diagnostic analysis.

I've been getting 20 mpg around town and 31 Hwy. in my 545i. I told the
dealer about it and they were impressed as well!

Happy Motoring!

Don't get too happy.  Many of the mpg's reported are in US gallons.

Break in period over??

My mpg went up a good 5 mpg. after the break-in of 7 or 8000mi.

My '94 325i gives me a consistant 25mpg (US) at freeway speeds that
consistantly nudge the 90mph mark. My routine cruising speed on the freeways
of California is 85 mph, and my computer tells me the Consumption rate is 25
mpg. (US gallons) I could press a button for you to give you the KM/100L
number, but you shold be able to do the math. My guess is that you are
having some kind of problem.
