I left my bmw keys attached to a set of rental car keys and the
FU**ing rental car company (Budget) rented it out with them still
attached.  What is the best (cheapest) source for replacement keys and
does anybody know the approximate cost?

Thanks

The only source, I believe, is to have a dealership/garage order them
from BMW. They don't come too cheap, either, although it ultimately
depends on how fancy your keys were.

The keys match the VIN, so you can't just have them cut at a keymaker's.
Of course, you can wait for Budget to return the set you lost if you
have a spare set. The other guy won't be able to make a useable copy of
your keys.

Good luck.

Eric,

It might go without saying, but the rental car company knows who they rented
it to.  They can get your keys back if properly *incentivized* (read
bribed).  There is no cheap source of replacement keys for late model
BMWs...

Does the "**" stand for your brilliance attaching your own
key to the rental's bunch? >:-)

Funny.....
how is it the FU**ing rental car company's fault??

Your logic is amazing.

Approximately $30-40 per key. You need to have a current DL and registration
for the BMW dealer.  It takes one or two days to get the key.
