Any connected a MP# player to a 3 Series 2002 and up?

Was it simple or is it best to pay BMW ( local dealer)?

I enjoy listening to not my Archos MP3 player and my new Delphi 'Roady'
portable XM Radio receiver. There is nothing displayed on the MID or NAV
because there is no connection to the bus. If you want that in addition to
the clear audio you can expect to dispense large quantities of your favorite
currency, if such a product is available.

Find out if there is an auxiliary input adapter for your model. I recently
added one to my E39 with a $40 - $50 (USD) part from BMW. Installation was
easy in my model, but a friend and I know what we're doing, otherwise let
BMW do it. They charge 1.5 hours labor, although it takes 45 minutes.

I hope this helps. I originally wanted the MID or NAV display but gladly
accept what I now have.

I use a small MP3 player (Creative), and an FM trasmitter (Belkin Tunecast
II) which together fit inside my centre armrest. I just tune my car stereo
into the transmitter and voila, perfect stereo reception and no wires :)

This seems pretty sweet... but a wee bit pricey if you ask me.

You can get a cd changer that plays MP3 (Alpine CHA-S634), Alpine AiNET to
MBUS cable and a BMW to Alpine Interface, all for around ?250.  This wil
give the ability to play MP3s, and use the contriols on the head
unit/sterring wheel.

see www.bm3w.co.uk for more details on this option.

Maybe no mod is required but it also doesn't appear to work very well
with BMWs;
