I'm trying to install a wireless remote to activate door locks on my '91
535I and need to access wires in the "underdash panel" on the driver's side.

I've removed the visible philips screws. one on the door side and 2
underneath. What else do I need to do to completely remove it?
Also wish to know if anyone have done this and any tips and suggestions will
be appreciated.

Unit I am going to install is by "bulldogsecurity".

Thanks in advance.

There are only several screws holding the panel.  Be careful not to damage
the wiring to the circuit breakers that are mounted on it.  In some models
there is a flexible cable holding it but that's very obvious if you have
one.  Just rock the panel to see where it's being held and you will find
more screws.  I think there are about six of them.

Thanks Bob,
I did not get to that stage yet. After removing the visible screws, it seems
the top part is still anchored. Do I have to remove the wood trim to get at
the screws or is there another way.
