Hi

Anyone know if there is likely to be any further developments in the near
future? I'm playing with the idea of changing a 325 ci sport for an M3
convertable but don't want to jump them gun and get something thats likely
to be superceded in the next 2 years?

TIA Tony

It's inevitable that the next M3 will get at least a V8 - especially as BMW
has already built an M3 with a V8, and Audi raised the ante with the new S4...

I sincerely hope you're wrong, unfortunately I don't think you will be.

I used the word inevitable for a reason - I'm not leading the charge here,
just observing the ever-increasing throw-weights in the market segment (check
out the next RS-6 for output. Yikes!) and making the fairly secure judgement
that BMW is not about to run up the white flag quite yet...

And I don't think a straight-8 - or a turbo-diesel straight 6 - are in the
offing, if that's what you have your heart set on ;-)
