The bulbs are white. The orange color is part of the LCD.

Given that the bulbs are clear, I think putting blue bulbs in probably would
indeed be a waste of time.

The lamps are white.

The display is orange because orange is a wavelength that your eyes can see
easily in the darkness and not affect your vision when your glance returns
to the outside. Stargazers use red lights to look at star maps because they
can look at the map then at the sky, and still be able to see. Your car
leverages this fact.

It would be a waste of time to change this.

Green is better....

If green really was better, and most American cars use green, then why
doesn't BMW use green?

We all know that American cars seldom do anything "better", they usually do
things cheaper. They might do some things better than other cars do the same
thing, but seldom do they stand out as acutally doint anything as good as it
can be done. BMW, on the other hand ...

For the record, photo darkrooms also use red because it is a wavelength that
will not affect the pictures being developed, and it alowws the technician
to see what he is doing.

Do not change the color of the SI or the OBC Display. It is a waste of
effort.
