Does anyone know of a good source for the original owners manuals for BMWs? Thanks

Recent model? Try bmwusa.com, most recent models' owners manuals are
available in .pdf form.

And for older cars, call around to junkyards.  I found one for my
1980 320i that way.  Richard

(the following is a repost of an answer I provided 2002.02.01.  If you can
no longer get a manual from your dealer, try these two sources.  There is
also eBay)

One place to try is Books4Cars.com.  They didn't have books for my car but I
bought other stuff from them and got what I was expecting at a reasonable
price.

Otherwise, try Schiff European Auto Literature in RI (schiffeuropean.com)
888-789-6882 or 401-946-4711.  I bought an Owner's Handbook (39.95) and a
Service Manual (169.95) there for my '90 525 in Dec after being referred by
BMW Canada.

Caveats:
Do NOT expect an EXACT replica of the handbook that came with the car. What I
received was a reprint that is oversize and faced with a sea-green front page.

Also, the 'even' pages are printed in the wrong orientation so that I have to

keep rotating the book back and forth as I read through it - very annoying.
The oversize format does benefit readability, but what I wanted was a near
perfect duplicate of the original and when I called to order I was told that
the only difference was that their reprints were done with higher quality
paper that the factory used.

The Service Manual has the same green front page, appears to be
standard size and doesn't have a problem with orientation.  The Cerlox binding

is tight and unless I replace it, I expect that pages will start falling off
with use.

Their policy is "All Sales Final" and it says so in big letters on their
invoice.

These gripes aside, the information you want is there between the covers.

Regards
 Ken R.
