Gas Guage Problems Linked to Gasoline

I just read this article posted on Yahoo News. It says that there has been a
problem recently with the gas that is being sold in the Southeastern Region
of the USA. With the discussions going on on this board recently, I wonder
it there is a link ...

Yep, I even heard it on the national news on the radio - ABC, I think.

Pretty sure that the sulfur combined with MTBE is what did in the two sets of
sender units for my BMW.  That stuff is quite corrosive.  The MTBE ruined $600
(parts+labor) of rubber hoses on my truck that was made before the manufacturers
anticipated such a high concentration of the stuff in the gasoline, and added
the proper compounds into the hoses.
