Ignore 'Sir' Tony. He infests UK groups with this sort of thing.

I have been drunk sometimes, and I have also driven sometimes, but never at
the same time.

Does this make me dirty scum too??

Almost 2/3 of all DUI arrests are from second offenders.
The way the laws are now, they are a joke! If the U.S. REALLY wanted to stop
DUIs, they'd make the threshold 0.0% BAC.
The way the laws are written and applied now, a 120Lb. female could have
ONE, JUST ONE glass of wine, and could conceivably be legally intoxicated !
The ONLY thing our current laws have done is make criminals out of
ORDINARY-LAW ABIDING CITIZENS !

Just wait until it happens to you or someone you know or someone in your
family....ARE THEY SCUM TOO?

Fair enough, but why the hell respond to my post with that? surely there
were more deserving posts for that.

yes they are.......but the bigger scum drivers are those who drive sober,
but with no tax, insurance, licence, mot. And they are a much bigger
percentage of the driving population and a much bigger threat on the road.

I don't know about that, can you prove it?

on a business trip to Denmark our host picked us up one morning and on the
way to the factory visiit stopped at a supermarket for "breakfast" a case of
larger
and perocede to open bottles for us using his seatbelt buckle whilst
driving!!!!
socially it was apparently better to be slightly drunk as when colliding
with an Elk was less painfull if you were relaxed

It is thought that over 10% of cars on UK roads are either driven by people
without a valid licence or valid insurance, or have no valid road fund
licence or MOT certificate. On the basis that if you get hit by one of these
people then you have no recourse via their insurance co. and the likelihood
is that if they can run they will - then you're left holding the baby, dead
or alive.
And these people don't have the excuse of being too drunk to know what
they're doing - they know exactly what they're doing everytime they get in
their cars. And its just so easy  too - buy a used car privately with ?200
cash with 3 months tax (if you want to avoid roadside stops)- if asked give
false details of name and address to the seller, never register the car in
your name, never buy insurance, never worry about mot - run every speed
camera cos you don't care - get stopped by police give either the same false
details or the sellers details and take the seven day producer and never
turn up - dump the car somewhere, anywhere, and buy another. Who pays for
all this? the fully legal fully insured innocent daily driver!!

Can you substantiate that "greater threat"statement?   Bill

You are more likely to be involved in an accident with an illegal driver
than a drunk driver, due to the higher percentage of illegal drivers
(includes illegal cars). And the cost to every motorist is much higher, who
pays the speeding fines for the unregistered cars?

I don't drink, anyway. I look better dressed as a man than as a woman.

Cottagers: Them people are worse that doggers.
