525 i se boot problem

i have just collected my 525 i se 03 saloon. my qustion is that if in
the car i can not open the boot without taking the keys out of the
ignition and unlock by the boot or door keys , is this right or am i
missing something very obvious.

On my E39, there's a button on the door frame sort of beside the
accelerator. Have you checked your handbook?

And on E60 it's deleted - I wonder why.
