I have a 323i with no trunk release inside the cabin. Any one ever put one
in?
thanks

The owner's manual is your friend (for a 2000 323i, page 40, "luggage
compartment lid").  Look where the front hood release is, in the
footwell, driver's side, next to your leg.  Isn't there a trunk
release just above it?

I see in the owners manual where this is supposed to be and mine is blank.

IIRC, the E46 328i had the interior trunk release but the 323i did not.  You
can always remove your key from the ignition and then push the remote
release button.

I always found that easier that trying to reach down and find where the
button was hidden.  My 98 740iL is the same way.

Luckily, the dash warning light reminds me when I've opened the trunk by
mistake.
