I have a 1990 325i coupe that recently has been having intermittent
speedometer failure.  When that happens, the odometer also stops.
Tachometer works fine and car runs fine (obviously cruise control does not
work when speedometer fails).  Any ideas of cause and cure?

Thanks.

Speed sensor at rear differential.  Most likely corroded wires at the
connector, they usually end up breaking just above the connector.

If wiring is ok, sensor could be bad.
