During normal driving windshield wipers, power door locks, power seats,
power window, radio, on board computer went out. No power going to the
radio, no lights on on-board computer. Checked fuses in front fuse box and
under seat box, they look OK. Car is 1991 BMW  535i.
What culd be problem?
Any advice would be helpfull.

Thanks Tony.

Inline fuse in the smaller positive wire from the battery.

If battery is located in engine bay, look for plastic cover on small cable,
about 12" from battery.  If under rear seat, it's about 8" from battery.

Even if it doesn't look bad, unscrew it.  It will have a hairline crack that
is not visible until you attempt to remove it.

This is the fusible link, right? I get this exact same problem in my
535i and have been told to change the fusible link but I'll be damned if
I can find it. Battery under back seat, the cable appears to have a
bulge in it where I'm assuming the fuse is but there's no obvious way to
actually get at it - am I missing something here? Do I need to cut the
outer layer of the cable away or something (shudder!) and if so what do
I replace it with afterwards?

If its relevant, mine is an '88, first year of E34 production, and
according to my indy mechanic contains a good deal of 7-series parts (!)

Bruno's excellent E34 website has info on replacing the fusible link

Strange the way they always pick on the most expensive part first...
