Just got a check engine light. Came on about 20 miles after I installed the
auxiliary radio input (which required I disconnect the battery). I know
that disconnecting the battery dumps some memory items (OBC was wiped clean,
trip miles reset, but the radio retained the stored stations!?!), but would
that be sufficient to cause a fault to develop and cause the light to come
on?
The engine seems to be running a little less smoothly than normal. Idle RPM
is a little high. Almost like the ECU were reset to lowest common
denominator. Or did I just have a coil (or similar) fail?

It could be almost anything. If you don't have a code reader, go to
Autozone. They'll read the code for free. Then you'll know where to begin
your search.

First thing I'd check is if the gas cap is seated properly. Sounds simple
but I've been caught on that one before. Not with the 330 but with our truck
(Dodge 1500 Hemi).
If you've run a couple of tankfulls through while experiencing this problem,
please ignore this message. ;-)
