Hi

Do anybody know how long a 1996 BMW 328i should take to come to a dead
stop from 100km/h?

Dry flat tar road, driver response time excluded.

Thanks!

In theory 2.83s during which it will travel 39.32m.  In practice it will
probably be a bit more than this, since you won't be able to pull 1g.

Autocar in the UK test braking distances as well as performance figures,
and it's quite common for cars to beat 1G from those sort of speeds on a
grippy test track.

Car & Driver tests cars from 70mph to zero.  Most good cars, including
BMWs, do it in about 175-185 feet.  That's probably in the 3 second range.
Road and Track tests 60-0, you might check their back issues.

you will find that on vehicles with DSC that ABS will very seldom initialize
on an emergency
100 - 0 stop
