I have a '92 525i with the standard BMW radio/cd head. Recently the right
channel sounds "scratchy" and when you turn the volume knob it makes loud
pops, only in the right channel. Is the volume pot dirty or is there
something else causing the problem? Thanks!

That is usually a scratchy pot.

I have a 1994 530i with a similar problem.  How can you clean the pot?
Thanks
