1990 525i Light Control Module

Greetings and salutations,
I have a 1990 525i and am experiencing some strange problems with my
headlights.
My driver side low beam was staying on all of the time and the high beam
worked intermittantly.
The passenger side low beam never came on but the high beam on that side
worked normally.
I found an article on the E34 website
(http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/Maintenance/Electrical/LKM.htm)
and was encouraged enough to open the LKM and have a look inside.
Mine differs from the one in the article in that it has only 3 relays
instead of 4.
I discovered that the base of one of the relays was melted and holding the
contacts in the closed position.
I carefully removed some of the plastic that was holding the contacts
together and now the left low beam works normally.
However I still have one low beam and one high beam that do not work.
Has anyone else encountered problems with their headlights mysteriously
going off and on?
I will try resoldering as outlined in the article and let you know what
happens.
Any advice you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
 Homer

I resoldered all of the components on the main circuit board and restored
switchable power to both high beams and the left low beam but the right low
beam is still dead. I think that I need a new LKM.

I purchased a new module from Bavarian Autosports and everything is working
great!
