when i brake there is a shaking of the steering wheel is it pads or
bearings or what? any help please. brian

Most likely a worn front centre drag link or tie rods.

Pads, rotors (possibly warped), or bushings.  If the upper and lower
control-arm bushings are 100K miles or so, they are likely to be
worn and cause this.  Warped rotors is the most likely, however.
