i have a 94 318 td and the problem iis that the car seems to have a good charge in the battery but when the key is turned in the ignition it doesnt turn over. The dash lights are working and the ignition switch appears to be working, i've tried resetting the alarm but still nothing, ive had the battery disconnected for a day and then reconnected it but still nothing. any ideas would be much appreciated. thanks

Are you sure the battery is OK? E36s give very little warning of a dead
one.

what is the voltage on the battery when the car is stopped?
what does the voltage drop to under load?  ie when you turn the key to
start?
