You sure it's a key mark? I have an 8" long wavy scratch on my door, I
discovered it was from a rivet on my wife's jeans when she squeezed past it
on the drive ...

Really can't understand the mentality of people who do this and to be honest
I don't really want to. It's just a shame they are so ignorant and bored.

Get it painted and try to forget it.

Keep telling yourself that, Big Boy!  You really think people are jealous of
you because you drive a BMW?  Grow up.  Maybe the person that got keyed was
an a.shole and deserved it?  Some people just need to stop trying to
compensate for those little dicks by using this mentality.  It's funny
nobody ever keyed my Z4, but then again I don't act like a self-centered
jerk.

I don't care how anyone parks, no one deserves to have their property
damaged for it. If you have a problem with the way someone parks, call
the cops and have their vehicle towed, or better yet be a MAN/WOMAN and
say something to them face to face about the way they park. I don't
have a BMW but I've owned several nice vehicles that have been messed
with in the past for no other reason than jealousy. That's why I feel
for this guy...

It sounds like you are the one that needs to grow up if you think it is
ok to damage other people's property because they upset you. And how do
you know this guy is a jerk or arrogant???

Either way, no reason for this response or to key someone's vehicle.

That's a little harsh, don't you think?

Even if somebody has behaved not up to your standards, it is news to me that
in our lands we can take the law in our own hands and cause criminal damage.
The motivation is irrelevant.

It's not always jealousy. I've seen plain old GMC's and Ford's keyed
because their drivers drove like or parked like a$$holes. Funny what
you see over time while you sit in parking lots waiting for your s/o.
TonyK - 16 Jan 2006 19:56 GMT
> Nope.  Im in NJ.

I'm suprised. Whenever I've been in the US I've found "car envy" wasn't a
big problem. My mate gets cheers in his Ford GT, over here in the UK it
would get vandalised if you left it in the wrong area.

I'm sure it varies in the US from area to area as much as in the UK but I
thought we were the main culprits! I am seriously considering selliong my M3
because of the increase in car crime over here.

I married her - this happened when I first met her :P

As it is, my #93 E36 320i SE isn't a minter anyway, it had a couple of dents
in the rear.

Good for ya!  I'll bet you're one of these dumb ignorant f.cks that park
diagonal taking up two slots?  Park with respect for other's rights and
you'll never get keyed.

And your reason for assuming this is what?

News break: some morons key new cars just for the thrill of disfiguring someone
else's expensive property without getting caught.

You are one dumb, offensive twat. (That's not an assumption, but a conclusive
fact based on the evidence.)

That's a load of crap.  Just because your Z4 has never been keyed does
not even remotely prove that there aren't people that will vandalize a
nice looking car purely out of jealousy.

Why don't you crawl back under whatever rock it was that you've been
hiding under for the past several months.   After these first two posts
(in quite some time) I can't say that I missed you.

Show of hands for those that missed Rita?

Ooh, a censor in our midst, and a New Hampshire censor at that. You must
have moved there from Massachusetts. I bet you drive like a Masshole as
well.

> Ooh, a censor in our midst, and a New Hampshire censor at that.

No, I am not a censor.  Anyone that cares to carry on a civil discussion
(or even an argument) is welcome to participate in my books.  But just
piping up with a couple of flagrantly derogatory posts of no value to
the discussion is not.  Of course that is just my opinion.

If you did a quick Google of "Rita Berkowitz" you would find that this
user has a history for trying to stir up trouble in all sorts of
different news groups.  But then, posting anonymously, perhaps you are
her (him)?

> You must have moved there from Massachusetts.

Indirectly, yes.  From Mass, to Illinois, to California, to Virginia, to
New Hampshire.  So I guess you could say I "came from Massachusetts".
Is that supposed to be an insult?

> I bet you drive like a Masshole as well.

... and you would lose that bet.  If you knew anything about me, or had
even read many of my prior posts, you would know that I am the
antithesis of the stereotypical "Masshole" driver.

Perhaps you should join Rita under that rock?

So, what you are saying is you want people to think that all BMW owners are
self-centered ignorant arrogant posing f.cks?

I have a history of not putting up with sh.t from a.sholes, nitwits, trolls,
and posers.  And no, this person wasn't me that was "posting anonymously" in
this thread.

> Perhaps you should join Rita under that rock?

Seems like you might have gotten the old BMW keyed for being an a.shole to
someone in some previous point in time?  I'm not going to apologize because
I don't have any sympathy for people that get their cars keyed (whatever
make) because they think people are "jealous" or some BMW owners are so self
centered enough to sh.t on other people by taking two parking slots so their
"baby" doesn't get scratched.  Simple logic, piss someone off and you just
might get to suffer the consequences.  That doesn't mean you get to choose
your punishment.  Now grow up and go f.ck yourself and stop making us
respectable BMW drivers look like fools!

Nice talk...

By the way, I am not the original poster and I have never had my car
keyed before.

You do seem to put a lot of offensive and foul language into a fairly short
post.  Does it make you feel better?  Is this the way you need to unburden
yourself?

If so, then it's cheaper than professional therapy.

It certainly does not advance your argument.

That's kinda like "post politely, don't assume the worst of others without
justification, and you'll never get punched in the face by other posters whom
you might happen to meet someday", isn't it?

You clearly have some deep seated bottled-up hate for people who park in two
spaces. Whereas this is deeply annoying this may not have happened in every
case where someone is keyed. It may - just may - have been done by someone
who quite simply is a arse.

Yeah, right...

a couple of months ago I stopped at a weekend "for sale by owner" car
lot in California where people leave cars they wish to sell. It utilizes
a "park & ride" area by the freeway; there's a kiosk at the entrance
where the organizers register the cars, maintain car keys, and handle
requests to inspect or drive the cars. There are roughly 200 cars &
trucks on the lot each weekend.

Nearly every luxury car in the lot had been freshly keyed, about a dozen
cars. Other cars were not.
