91 320i how to change the clock

hi just purchased a 91 320i bmw and i cant change the clock on the computer
bit on the dash where the engine check and everything is.  have a friend with
a 95 318i with the same display bit and he cant change it either its the
model with the long screen and a set of 4 buttons to the left hand side with
1, 10, 100, 1000 on them have tried to consult the owners manuals but are in
japanese and cant read it please help!

on my 323 you chage the clock up in the speedo
there is a button to the left of the trip reset

- Press CLOCK key until "Input Time" appears in the left-hand display and
the dots flash.

- Input correct time
- Press SET/RES. The clock will start to run

For the time display:

1000 is the input button for tens (hours)
100  is the input button for ones (hours)
10 is the input button for tens (minutes)
1 is the input button for ones (minutes)

The digits can be input in any order. Each time a key is pressed, or every
half second if it is held down, the value increases by one.
