Can you tell me what other models of BMW use this brake light plastic
holder?  Where can I get replacement plastic light holder? Used or new are
OK.

I think this come out from a 1998 700 series tail brake light.
This fits and works for the 1999 740 tail brake light plastic holder.
Thank you.

Looks like here:

&product=P9002-116170&application=000499668&clientid=bimmerparts.com&cookieid=1V

Or the dealer.  It is used only on the 7 series.  There are 2 different
sizes - one part number says 4 per car, and the other says 6 per
car.

I've got 2 of that part number on my 1993 E36 320i. It's not for the 7
series only. It also may be the wrong one - that's the bulb holder for the
taillights on the E36 -  the brake lights on the 7 might be part
P9002-233421.

On my E36 there are 3 different bulb holders. Part P9002-116169 is for the
turn signal bulbs (2 per car), P9002-116170 is for the tailights (2 per
car), and P9002-116171 is for the other bulbs (6 per car) in the
brake/tail/signal/reverse set.

Dan,

Can you tell me if your 320i bulb holder can be used on the 7 series?

Another question, what years for the 7 series brake bulb holders for this
P9002-233421? This is in black color. What about other bulb holders of
different colors?

Thank you,

I don't have a 7 I can try it on. I was comparing part numbers in the
bimmerworld catalogue.

You can change the year on bimmerworld and see the parts. That part was for
1999 model (Bob's link has year=1999 in it, and I just pulled up the other
bulb hold part for the same year). My 320 has 3 different colours of holder,
with different fittings - one for the taillight (white), one for the fog
light (off white), and the rest all have the same holder (black).

Dan, For your 320, does your different color bulb holder interchangable?
Thank you.

If you mean can the different colours fit in the spaces of the others and
take the same bulbs, no.

Dan, does all your black bulb plastic holders fits in brake lights, like our
700 series?

All the black ones in my car are identical.

Dan, so all your black ones are for brake lights, right?
So can I assume BMW used black bulb holders for all models?

My '94 3 Series cars have that lamp holder. There are several different
holders, and you need the right one for the position it fits in. There are
some stores on eBay that sell this sort of thing.

Jeff, Do you have the link for these stores? Thanks.

Sorry, no. I stumbled upon them once while looking for other stuff. Try
searching for BRAKE LIGHT HOLDER and variations on the theme, and see if you
can find them.
