Hi All,
California State Route 1 (CA-1), the coastal route for the state, often has
its share of road closures. Why? It can usually be attributed to mud
slides, cracked roadway and unsafe, slick pavement.
As is the case in Marin County, CA-1 found itself closed near Stinson Beach.
The riute will re-open tomorrow after a lengthy closure. KTVU has done an
excellent job of previewing the re-opening stretch:

For photos of State Route 1, ranging from Laguna Beach to Mendocino, look no
further than the collection at the Worldwide Highway Library (a Calrog.com
component):

Enjoy!
Cheers,

Isn't all of California just a big suburb of Los Angeles?

Stinson Beach is located just up the Marin County coastline from the
Golden Gate. The part of CA 1 in question was over the Coast Range
from the US 101/CA 1 North interchange in Mill Valley (~8-10 miles
north of the Golden Gate Bridge) from Panoramic Highway in Stinson
Beach to the Panoramic Highway in Mill Valley, I believe. It was
closed due to storm damage repairs from severe winter storms in 2006.
Also, all of NorCal is NOT a suburb of LA in any way, shape or form.
Bako and Fresno get in the way, but thats for a different group.
