**The Foothill Freeway is currently I-210 from Sylmar to CA-57, State
Highway 210 from CA-57 into Fontana, and closed between Cherry or
Sierra and I-215. It is signed as CA-30 from I-215 to its ultimate
eastern terminus at I-10 in Highland. The San Bernardino County
portion of the freeway is likely to be signed CA-210 all the way
through to Highland until CalTrans gets AASHTO approval to make it all
I-210. CA-30 will disappear. But if they're going to announce a July opening
date, they'd better do it quick; July is half over already.**

HILLARY BORRUD
SAN BERNARDINO - San Bernardino County's regional transportation
planning agency expects to announce a July opening date for the final
7.25 miles of Interstate 210 later this week, said spokeswoman Cheryl
Donahue.
Work on this last portion of the Foothill Freeway through Rialto and
San Bernardino began in 2003 and was projected to wrap up by late
2007, according to San Bernardino Associated Governments or SANBAG.
The freeway through Rialto and San Bernardino will have three regular
lanes and one carpool lane in each direction. On and off-ramps will be
at Alder Avenue, Ayala Drive, Riverside Avenue and State Street,
according to SANBAG.
On and off-ramps at Pepper Avenue will be completed later, after local
road construction has been completed, Donahue said.

Great news all the way around. This is earlier than I expected.

Cool to hear. I will be out in the area in Sept. and hope to drive on it.

The June newsletter said "by the end of the summer". If they really
open it in July, I'll certainly be surprised.
