Hi Viatologists,

As you're probably aware, The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge remains
under construction.  The eastern span will one day host of pair of
skyway-stretches: one for each direction of traffic.  If you get a
chance to visit Yerba Buena/Treasure Island on a sunny afternoon, it's
possible to get a full view of the skyway construction.  It's really
exciting to see the old metal span sitting next to its future
counterparts.

Today, the Worldwide Highway Library brings to you a video of
construction progress:  http://worldwide-hwys.calrog.com/2602/

What will this mean for your pocketbook?  Expect tolls to complete
once the project completes.  The Bay Bridge toll is currently US$4 for
westbound traffic.  The amount may rise to $5 over the next year or
so.  Then, expect another increase when the Bay Bridge completes.

In addition to this video, the Worldwide Highway Library offers you
glimpses of roads from three continents.  We offer views of North
America, Central America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.  For an
eclectic look at many cultures and their roads, you will not find a
better resource on the web.  Enjoy!

Cheers,

Carl Rogers

How do you get off of Treasure Island? I always thought about taking a
trip to look at the construction, but that ramp back onto I-80 has got
to be the scariest ramp ever.

Actually, I'd much rather you buried him there.

Hey, MLOM do you watch your local news?  The trial that's starting there
about the guy that killed to elderly couple?  I know the son of the dead
couple...he's an internet friend - a really nice guy.

Take care,

Heard a little about it.  I'll probably see an update later tonight.

Think good thought for him, please.  He's having trouble trying to cope
and is ready for the nightmare to be behind him.

Ya know, that video would have been a lot better had you kept your mug
out of the frame.

OBTW, you were pointing about 250 feet behind where the span under
construction terminates.

Indeed. You know you're ugly when your pockmarks are your best
feature.

But as we all should know by now, the WHL isn't about highways at all, it's
a way for CalQaeda to impose himself on the world. Like it or not. Unless
you piss him off, then it's BANanahammar time.
