$2.65-ish in the Infernal Empire.

I have no idea - it's been several weeks since I bought any gas. ;)

Well, I'm sure you'll have a nice surprise at the pump.

It won't be nice, and it won't be the least bit surprising.

Say, I have a simple question. If crude oil is more expensive, then why
are oil co profits soaring? What aspect of the pricing is faked?

Because they pump their own oil, and they're getting more for that oil.
> What aspect of the pricing is faked?
The amount you pay in taxes.

Thanks for the reply. I'd love to blame the treehuggers now....jk

Well, they are certainly part of the problem. Treehuggers suppress the
supply.

The $2.639 matches the local Costco in Van Nuys, which usually has the
lowest prices around (although sometimes matched by nearby ARCO stations).
Everyone else is a bit higher.
There seems to be some hesitancy to cross the $3 mark. I saw several
stations at $2.799 regular UL, $2.899 mid-grade, $2.999 premium, but others
were at $2.839, $2.939, $2.999. I would ordinarily have expected the
premium to be at $3.039 but they didn't seem to want to cross the $3
barrier.

I'm seeing $3+ regularly in Riverside now for 91 octane. Average for 87
is still hanging around $2.659.

Not here in SoCal. Today, I bought my first self-service "tank"[1] of
> $3 gal gas. Based on what I've been seeing, it won't be a fluke.
-Kenny
[1] - partial tank, anyway- they only authorize cards for $50, so the
pump shut off at a little over 16 gals.

Its over $3.00 in San Francisco.
Its $2.79/UL REG at the Shell in Alameda. I was there last week, and
the guy was pushing the Premium V-Power at $2.97/gal. I like to stop in
Martinez for gas when I'm in the area.
