New Lanes Added to State Route 76
SAN DIEGO - Last week the California Department of Transportation
(Caltrans) opened two additional lanes, one lane in each direction, on
State Route 76 (SR-76) in the community of Bonsall. The new lanes at
the intersection of Olive Hill Road and Camino Del Rey have relieved
existing traffic congestion through this area. There have also been
improvements to the traffic signals and a 200 foot-long retaining wall
was built along westbound SR-76 west of Olive Hill Road.
"With the reconfigured intersection, traffic moves more efficiently
through downtown Bonsall," said Project Manager Mark Phelan. "It
is also safer for pedestrians at this intersection."
In addition, there are dedicated left turn movements at both Olive Hill
Road and Camino Del Rey. The $4.2 million project was funded by the
first ½ cent TransNet sales tax measure from SANDAG and Federal
Demonstration Funds.

This has been one of the most dangerous intersections in the county
over the past few years, I'm glad to see they finished it finally.

That falls under the category of about fricking time.
Now if they would widen the bridge, next (that one-lane-per-direction bridge
supposed to improve traffic that replaced the old one-lane-per-direction
Bonsall Bridge that was congested).
