Couldn't find a decent answer in history of newsgroup. I'm planning to
install an active subwoofer in the boot of my peugeot 307.

Current config:
MBQuart 6,5" speakers front
Clarion DBM 538rmp 2 channel basic model cd/mp3 player

Questions? Lots of questions since i'm a newbie in car stereo. Why I
need a sub? Speakers don't produce much bass but are terrific in
mids/highs in my opinion. Bass should only add to the music, not
rocking my car upside down

Allright, the questions:
1. What brand of sub? Stick with Clarion? Saw a nice looking SRV303.
2. There's a 12volt connection in the boot. Will this do for the sub?
3. The Headunit has preouts. Can i connect the sub directly to these?
Any ideas?
4. Whats best: glue the sub to the floorcarpet or ...

Anything else that i should pay attention to, given car and unit?
Thanks for reading and helping me out here!

regards
Roger

Since no one replied to your post, except me, here's what you need to
do.  You need to keep reading some more.   here's some basic answers
to you questions:

1.  It's depends on a variety of factors like size (sub and vehicle),
sq, spl, ...etc

2.  You need an amplifier to power a sub which requires a separte
power wire from your car battery.

3.  The preouts send a signal to the amplifier.

4.  Glue the sub to the carpet?  First mount it a proper size box.
Then depending on how the box fits in your car find a way to mount the
box to the vehicle if you so choose.  I've never glued or screwed any
of my sub boxes down.
