I have a high-low converter i bought from walmart. It's mounted behin
my dash and taps into the front channels and converts to rca for m
amp. Problem is.. Apparently this scosche walmart brand junk is pickin
up a huge load of interference probably from all the wiring behind th
dash. If i mount the converter in the trunk, and run speaker wire al
the way from the dash to the trunk, will I pick up more engine nois
using speaker wire than an rca? and by the time it reaches the trunk
will the signal have dilapidated by a noticeable quanitity? Which wir
is more efficient in transferring a signal along about 15 ft of wirin
basically my question..

It will be lossless either way.  There won't be a significant voltage drop
no matter which way you do it.  Deal with the noise.  Don't worry about
losing signal.

Why not wire the converter to the back speakers then instead of wiring it
back behind the radio?  Unless your speakers are in the rear doors.
