I"m looking for something to attach to the cd changer wire in the trunk of
my car (
03 jetta gli with mosune stereo) so that i can have a aux input for
attaching external sound sources.  I"ve seen one for $79 but looking for
maybe a cheaper alternative.

possibly something to could build.  I'm used to working with electronics
(soldering and simple circuit design)  Thanks in advance for any suggestions

If all you want is MP3 playback, you may want to consider investing in a
PhatNoise system. It's "lease legal" because it requires no permanent
modification and will work with the factory VW deck. It's admittedly far more
expensive than what you found, but again, if MP3 playback is all your concerned
with (the reason most people want an AUX input), than it's great.
